Kennedy College is an independent college situated in the centre of the ancient university city of Oxford providing bespoke educational programmes for secondary school students.
Since its establishment in 2016, the College has earned its reputation for excellence in providing effective preparation for its students in their public examinations and future careers. The College has achieved success for its students through its unique Oxford tutorial approach to programme design with the dedication and expertise of a cohort of qualified professional educationalists who guide and nurture the individual student’s personal and social development successfully.
Kennedy College, many of whose teachers are themselves Oxford and Cambridge graduates, provides an environment quite different from that of a traditional school. The teaching approach is refreshingly interactive and informal whilst structured in a way to ensure progress. This emphasis on small group work and one-to-one tutorials enables a clear focus on specific individual needs and learning styles. A variation of pace and emphasis according to each student's needs helps students to approach their work calmly and objectively. The support provided by a student's Subject Tutors and Personal Tutor is mindful, creative and relevant, students are encouraged at every stage to take an active part in the learning process, through engagement, self-motivation, personal study and research. In this way the College ensures progress towards and preparation for a student's University study following their learning achievements at College. Extra-curricular activities whilst various and plentiful are optional for Kennedy College students to make the most of their time whilst studying with us in Oxford. The College has a strong academic ethos and few rules, but enjoys a culture of encouragement which promotes industry and a mature awareness of personal responsibility.
The College

Small seminar groups are combined with individual tuition, allowing for effective syllabus coverage and careful guidance with each student’s grasp of material and production of written work.
This ‘tutorial method’ is an extremely flexible teaching approach, which provides a dialogue between tutor and student and thus enables reinforcement of understanding and careful attention to areas of weakness.
The full range of academic subjects is available, not only traditional school subjects but also others which do not require previous study and may be taken up for the first time.
There are no restrictions as to the choice of subjects or subject combinations, although students are advised to make choices appropriate to their degree course or vocational aim and to take subjects which engage their interest and fit in with their abilities and aptitudes.
